In early times Christmas was 12 days of celebration, starting on 25th December and culminating on 12th night - the old 'Christmas Day'. Hence the song "Twelve Days of Christmas" and the play by William Shakespeare - "Twelfth Night".

Milton Morris Men always celebrate Twelfth Night by dancing at a local hostelry. This is always followed by a music session in the pub and, of course, a few beers.
